Apostille assistance / Documents for use abroad

A clear starting point
for your apostille request.

Gillstar Group assists individuals, families, businesses, attorneys and legal teams with inquiries about obtaining apostilles for eligible documents.

Start with the document and its destination.

The right first step depends on what the document is, where it was issued and where it will be used. We help you discuss the assistance available for your request before you arrange document delivery.

Have the document type, issuing state or authority, country of use, recipient instructions and deadline ready. We will discuss scope, processing considerations and a quote.

What makes each request different?

01 / DOCUMENT ORIGIN

Where it was issued

State-issued, notarized and federal documents can follow different processing routes. Do not assume that every document goes through the same office.

02 / COUNTRY OF USE

Where it is going

Destination requirements determine whether an apostille or another authentication route may apply. Confirm the receiving organization’s instructions.

Plan an international request ↗

Timing and pricing, confirmed for your documents.

Government processing, document corrections, additional authentication steps and shipping can affect the timeline. Any expedited option must be assessed for your specific request. We do not promise a government completion date or overseas acceptance.

Ask for a quote covering the agreed assistance and any applicable processing or delivery arrangements. Fee components and payment terms must be confirmed before you proceed.

Independent assistance. Official certification.

Gillstar Group is an independent document-service business. Apostilles are issued by the appropriate public authority. We do not represent a government office or make legal determinations about your document.

For Alabama-issued documents, the Alabama Secretary of State publishes official authentication information. Federal documents are handled through a different authority.

Apostille questions.

Should I mail original documents right away?

Contact us first. Confirm the required document format, service scope, receiving address and delivery arrangements before shipping originals.

Can you help if I live outside Alabama?

We welcome national and international inquiries. The assistance available depends on the document’s issuing authority, destination and delivery arrangements, which must be confirmed first.

Is an apostille the same as notarization?

They are different steps. A document may need notarization or a particular certified copy before it is eligible for authentication. Follow the competent authority and recipient’s instructions.
