Appointment checklist

Prepare for your
mobile notary visit.

A little preparation helps the appointment run smoothly. Confirm requirements for your specific document and signer before the visit.

Before requesting a visit.

  • Identify the document type and number of signers. Do not send identification numbers in a general inquiry.
  • Choose a preferred appointment window and a suitable meeting location.
  • Ask the document recipient about required witnesses or specific notarial instructions.
  • If meeting at a facility, check visitor rules and required permissions.

Once the appointment is confirmed.

  • Ask what identification the signer needs to bring.
  • Have the complete document available, including any attached instructions.
  • Confirm who needs to be present and who is arranging any required witnesses.
  • Follow the notary’s guidance about when to sign.
  • Keep the confirmed appointment location and business contact details available.

Questions belong with the right person.

If you need help choosing a legal document, understanding its effect or selecting a notarial certificate, ask the document recipient or an attorney. A notary appointment is not legal advice.
